Fashion Baby ベビコーデ13/04/03

I was born and grew up in the northern part of Japan. We have long winters and tons of snow every year.

So, it has been a challenge for me to get used to the heat and humidity of "Hotlanta". 

I never realized that I dress very lightly until I was told by a couple of moms at the mothers and children's get-together at the Japanese church today.

Neither Amane nor I wore jackets, but I was feeling just fine (it was 63 degrees, that's pretty warm for me).

I wish the weather was always like this here, but I know the horrible summer is coming soon.  How dreadful...

1年の半分を雪が覆う町で産まれ育った私

20度越えたら半袖、25度越えたら暑過ぎて人間としての機能が一気に低下。

そんな私も灼熱のアトランタに来て早4年。

筆舌に尽くし難い暑さと湿度に耐えて頑張っています。

今日はやや晴れていた(18度）ので上着無しで地元教会の親子の会に参加。

雨音に至っては短パンで参戦。

外に出ると意外に風は冷たいけれどこんなの全然平気のへいざでいッと

啖呵を切って出掛けた我らですが

会に来ているママに

「むっちゃ薄着だね…寒くないの？」

とごもっとものご指摘。周りを見渡すとみなさんちゃんとジャンパー着てる。あ。

私は大丈夫でも子は寒いかもなのね、そうなのね、とちと反省した本日。

Favorite pastime activity: trying to lick human's toothbrush

Way to get human attention : sit right in front of the TV

Likes: Thunder storm, pink mouse toy

Dislikes: wet wipe, sometimes Koi-san, wet food with chicken, being picked up

Favorite place to nap: anywhere with warm sunshine, under the bedsheets

Favorite pastime activity: ambush Kiki when she goes to toilet

Way to get human attention : flop down in front of your feet, wait for them in front of the bathroom door

Likes: Food, Back scratch, Sitting with her humans, Baby play mat, nap etc etc

Dislikes : vacuum cleaner

猫が２匹います

同じ猫とはいえやはり性格があって、結婚した4年前に家族の仲間入りをしたキキ（写真上）は

「こやつ、我らの言ってる事、全部分かってるんじゃ…」

と空恐ろしくなるよな訳知り顔のにゃんこだし

新入りのこいさん（写真下）はご飯大好き人間大好きキキも大好き何でも大好きな

わんこのような愛にあふれたにゃんこです。

毎日ふわふわとそれぞれの愛情表現で幸せを分けてくれるこの2匹

私達の所に来て良かったなぁと思ってくれればいい

マックス幸せな生活を送ってもらう為に出来る事を毎日してあげようと思います

Happy Easter! 初イースター

We had an Easter dinner at my in-laws' house yesterday. 

Amane has been showing some clinginess lately and she won't let anybody hold her. That breaks her Grandmama's heart and I feel so bad about it. I just hope this phase won't last too long. We'll see!  If you have any advice, please let me know.

I didn't look into local egg hunts early enough this year, so we didn't go to one. But she might have been too young to enjoy it anyway. I definitely hope to go to one next year!

Let's see what the Easter Bunny got for me...

昨日はイースター（キリストの復活祭）でした。

教会に通っている家族ならば礼拝に行って、子供はエッグハンティング（公園などに隠されたお菓子の入った卵を探す宝探しみたいなもの）といった流れかと想像しますが、我ら家族は教会とは縁遠い為、旦那実家にて家族で夕食のみ。

最近いっちょ前に人見知りをするようになった雨音さん。

特に孫溺愛中の義母がダメでえづきながら号泣。

新米ばあちゃんのハートを裸足で踏みにじる乳児。

この時期がどれだけ続くのか分かりませんが、傷ついた義母が不憫でならないので１日も早く克服してもらいたいもんです。

A stroll in the sun / 産後ダイエットの心得

It was such a lovely day last Friday that I decided to take Amane out for a walk. Luckily, there are many great parks around where we live.  We took a nice, leisurely walk on a trail in the woods for about 45 minutes.

I have exercised regularly since Amane was born, but not as much as I would like to.  So I feel like I should take every opportunity to go outside and at least take a walk.

Amane usually sleeps in the stroller, so I can't tell yet if she likes to be outdoors or not. But I can't wait to do all kinds of outdoor fun things with her in the future!

橋からの眺め、緑が濃くなるのが待ち遠しい

出産後およそ3ヶ月で体重は妊娠前に戻ったのですが、やはり体型の変化は否めない。

顕著なのは腰〜お尻のあたり。

確かに人間一人通ったんだから仕方ないっちゃ仕方ないんだけど。

と諦めちゃ女が廃るって事で、週2のズンバを初め、出来る範囲での運動を心がけています。本当はジョギングもしたいけど、なんせ時間が足りない。

いや、むしろ時間管理の問題かしら。

それはさておき、先週金曜は気持ちのよい晴天だったので、雨音を連れて散歩へ。

幸いこの辺りには公園が沢山あって、小1時間程度の散歩にはぴったり。

親子で自転車やジョギング、犬を連れて散歩してる人もちらほら。

すやすや眠る雨音の乗ったベビーカーを押しながら、彼女がもう少し大きくなったら一緒にできる事を考えながらわくわくしたのでした。

Books from NY 本を読む事

One of the most difficult things about living in the States for me is the very limited access to Japanese books.

If I was in LA or NY, I could go to Japanese bookstores and even second hand bookstores.  But I can only dream about them here in ATL. 

But a very sweet co-worker of my husband got me some books when she visited NY last week.  I am so excited and can't wait to read them!

I have always loved reading and my mom even made me a "library bag" to take with me when I started elementary school so I could carry extra books. I carried it everyday and I became really good friends with an old lady who worked at my school library.  In elementary school, I wore pink-framed glasses and I always had a few books with me wherever I went. How cute is that?

東野圭吾は裏切られてもまた読んでしまう、複雑な女心

アメリカに住む上で1番不便なのは、日本語の本が簡単に手に入らない事。

私は今でこそ初めて会った人にもちゃんと挨拶できる立派な大人に成長したものの（当たり前）中身はピンクの眼鏡をかけていた７歳の頃から足繁く図書館に通う根暗な少女のまま。

つまり、常に本に囲まれて生活したい訳なんです。

せっかく英語も話せるんだし英語の本読めばいいじゃん。

と思われるのは当然の事。

でも面倒くさい。単語調べながら読むとかいう忍耐力のない私。

でもそろそろ読む本無くなって来たな、そわそわ。してる私の元に救世主現る。

その方は旦那ちゃんの隣の席で働く日本通の素敵女子。彼女が先週ニューヨークに行った際にわざわざ本を買ってきてくれたのです、何て良い人。惚れそうです。

ちびがちびなので、読める時間は限られるけれども楽しみ。

それにしても相変わらず暗いな、本の選択が。

Star Obsession 星柄に寄せる思い

I am obsessed with star prints right now! I love anything and everything with stars on it! Earrings, shirts, pants...if they have stars on them, I want them!

I have had other design obsessions like butterflies, hearts (that was short-lived), skulls,

and stripes (I still love this last one).  But right now, stars are my favorite.

I was looking at my recent purchases of baby clothes and it made me realized how obsessed I am.

But I only like stars that I think look rock-n-roll, not those cutesy, lovey kind of stars with faces or smiles on them.  Yuck!

星柄が好きです。しましまに次ぐ勢いで好きです。

私は一つの物を好きになるととことん突き詰めるタイプなので、否が応にもその時々の嗜好品を買い溜める羽目に陥ります。そしてある日突然冷める。

過去には蝶々モチーフのアクセサリーを大量に集めていたし、スカルも長い事愛好して（今も）おりました。

しかしながらここ数年やっぱ私はロック調がスキなんだ。って事に落ち着いてからは鳴りを潜めていた収集癖が星柄に出逢った事によって一気に解放。

とは言っても大人の星柄の服ってそんなにあるもんじゃーありゃーせんので、ピアスやシャツ程度↑の可愛いものなんですが、子供服に至ってはいっぱいある！うきゃッ

現在ほぼ5ヶ月の娘。ジーンズに至っては1歳用サイズ（1番小さいのがこのサイズだった）

なんでまだ日の目を見る日は遠いのですが、着せるのが待ち遠しい★

今は何故かギンガムチェックがものすごく気になるのですが、どこにも売ってない…

Fashion Baby /ベビコーデ13/03/22

I went to an Indian restaurant for lunch yesterday with a friend who is expecting a baby boy in May.  I can't wait to see her little man! And another friend of mine is expecting a baby boy in July.  So exciting! 

When we found out I was pregnant, I really wanted a boy, and I am still hoping our baby number 2 will be a little brother for Amane.  But with that being said, I will take another girl or 2 any day :)

昨日は5月に男の子を出産予定の妊婦ちゃんの友達とインド料理屋さんにてランチ。

そして７月にも男の子を出産する友達がいて、只今メンズブーム真っ盛りです。我が家も是非あやかりたいところ。

妊娠が発覚した当初は絶対男の子が欲しい！と思っていた私ですが、産まれてみると女子も楽しいじゃん、可愛いじゃんとすっかり心変わり。

ソフトモヒカンな彼女にめろっと来る日々です。

自分の子供〜学生時代を振り返ると、どうかあんな子には育ってくれませんようにと祈る事しかできない私ですが、こればっかりは神のみぞ知る。

けどやっぱ男の子も育ててみたいし、出来る事ならあと数人子供は欲しい。

だって私と旦那ちゃんの組み合わせからどんな子が誕生するのかなんて予想できないし、毎回違う結果が出るなんて、好奇心くすぐられまくりです。まさに神秘！
