New light switch Covers! リビングルーム完成への道程

We have been extra busy with the arrival of our son,  but for some reason, that's when I get motivated to do extra stuff like cleaning the closet or decorating the house!

I have been looking for cute light switch covers for a while, but I didn't quite find the one I really like.  Then finally, I found those super adorable red iron covers at The Noteworthy Nest on Etsy.  They are $6.25 each, you can't beat that!! 

The owner responded to my inquiries very quickly and she made it very easy to custom made them for me.  And I am more than happy with them!  They added a little charm to our living room.  I really would love to change all the switch covers in the house, but that'll take a while.. we'll see!

人が1人増えて毎日わたわたの我が家ですが、こういう時に限って新しい事に手をつけたくなる私。

昔から、テスト期間中に大掃除を始めるタイプの女です。

まだまだ発展途上中の我が家ですが、せめてお客さんの目につくリビング位はって事で、未だに物色中の大物家具はさておき、小物から地味に収集。

まずは電気スイッチカバーを購入して取り替えました。

手作りやビンテージが盛り沢山の大好きなサイトEtsyにて発見。1個＄6.25（630円位）とお値段も可愛い。

小さな変化ですが、赤が目立ってなかなかの存在感。非常にご満悦。

今後は家中のカバーを変えてやろうと目論見中。長丁場になりそうです。

さーて次は何をしようかな。

Fashion Baby キッズコーデ

Amane has been great with her new baby brother, she kisses him and tries to hold him constantly.  I feel bad we haven't taken her out for such a long time.  So when we do go out, I love to dress her up a little.  I wish she would let me put pins or bows in her hair.  If anyone knows the trick, I would love to know!

海晴が産まれてから、しばらく外出できずに退屈な思いをさせてるのではと気掛かりな新米姉ちゃん、雨音。

家ではついつい楽チンほぼパジャマ姿で過ごさせてしまうので、出掛ける時位はちと着飾ってみる。歩けるようになってからはスカート姿も様になったように感じます。

ただ髪留めやゴムは力づくで外してしまうこのお年頃。

何か良い方法があったら是非ともご教授頂きたいところ。

New addition to our Family! 息子誕生の巻

It felt like my pregnancy was never going to end, but my son was finally born on 5/16/2014.
It was the day before his due date.  I heard the second baby come early or the labor tends to be shorter than the first.  My advise is this : do not expect that to happen!  It took him 18 hours to come out (it took my daughter 24)!  It's probably because he was huge (almost 9 lbs). Anyway, all I can say now is I was overjoyed to finally see him and the pregnancy to be over!

It has been hectic, but definitely fun first month with 2 kids.  But I am just terrified and have no clue what to do when my mom goes back to Japan.  We'll see, wish us luck! Because we will need it, seriously.

初めまして、海晴です

永遠に続くかと思った妊娠も遂にその沈黙を破り、予定日前日の5月16日、無事に長男が誕生しました。

良く２番目は早く産まれるとか、お産自体にかかる時間も半減するとか聞きますが、全くそんな事なーい。期待して損したー。

結局18時間かかって誕生して来た我が息子。更に予想を遥かに上回る４㌔越えの巨大児。

そりゃ簡単には出んわな。
病院に検診に来てくれる小児科の先生にも
「まさか…下から出したの？（帝王切開でなく。の意）」と聞かれる始末。
そりゃ出しましたさ、気合いで。
まぁ無痛でしたんで、その時は痛くも痒くもなかったしさ。後から尾をひいたのは勿論の事…

この1ヶ月はあれ、新生児ってこんなんだったっけ。
と雨音（長女）の私への他人行儀な態度に戸惑う日々。そんな中でも、日本からやって来てくれた母の存在により何とか均衡を保っている状態の現在の我が家。

母が帰国後の事は考えるだけで心臓発作が起きそうになるので敢えて避けてますが、まぁなるようにしかならない、はず。

子供７人とか育て上げた先人の知恵を是非とも拝借したい次第です。

さーて2児の母となった私、この先、母として以外の部分も強化していこうと企み中。

どうせ忙しくなるなら、一気にまとめて取り組んじゃえっていう自虐的なのか野心的なのか判断が微妙な目標に向かって邁進して行く次第です。
