Kid to Kid Finds! プチプラ子供服★

Ever since Amane was born, Kid to Kid has been my go-to place for kids clothes and toys.  They have quite a good selection and I can always find few things there.  You can easily get a shirt or pants for $2 to $3, that is awesome.

I went there today to find Easter outfits for the kids, but no success.  I wanted to get pretty formal-looking dress for Amane this year,  but they just didn't have the one I loved.  And for Kaisei, I've got a shirt and bow tie and I'd like a light colored vest or jacket ( might be too warm?) to go with them, but no luck there, either.  Oh well, I just have to keep on looking,  I don't mind, I love shopping!  

However,  I found those cute shorts and Gap shirt for Kaisei.  Shorts : $2.99, shirt $3.99.  $7 for an outfit!  All I need is a pair of sandals to go with this outfit, adorable!  Can't wait for summer :)

雨が産まれてからというもの、子供服はほぼリサイクルショップにて購入。

何つたって姉と弟、更に産まれた季節が真逆なもんだから、お下がりできるのはほぼ皆無…。まぁいいさ。

てなもんで本日も行って参りました。今日の目的は4月頭にあるイースター（キリスト教の復活祭）に着るドレス。

我が家はクリスチャンではないので教会とかにも行かないんですが、イースターには子供達が盛装してエッグハンティングしたり、（去年の様子はこちらからどうぞ〜）家族と集ったりするので、せっかくだし着飾りたい。と意気込んで行ったのですが。

今年は何となく超乙女な、どこぞのお嬢様みたいなドレスを着せたい願望が強く、どれもちとカジュアル過ぎに感じて結局買わず仕舞いに。むむ

海は既にシャツと蝶ネクタイを用意しているので、薄手のベストがあればいいなと思ったのですがそれもなく。今日は不発だったな。

とか言いつつも海のシャツと短パンを購入。

ギャップのシャツは3㌦99㌣（約¥400）赤パンは2㌦99㌣（約¥300）。上下で約¥700。

えへん！

男子に赤を着せるのが好きです。

これにあとサンダルと帽子（麦わらのフェドーラとかね）さえあればもう夏準備万端。

去年雨が履いてたのが履けるかな。

さーてイースターまで後1ヶ月、思い描いているドレスは見つかるのか！？

Garage sale find ガレージセール戦利品

My daughter (2 year old ) LOVES Ariel, I don't remember how it started, but she has been Amane's favorite princess so far.  I'm ok with it as long as I don't have to buy clothes or shoes with princesses on them.  Well, it might be a matter of time, but right now she's pretty happy with Ariel pajamas and cups, that sot of things, I'm happy, too.

Recently, grandma introduced her to Disney classic movies and Amane uncovered the truth that there are other princesses!  She seems to like Snow White, especially when Daddy pretends he's a wicked witch and tries to give her poison apple.   That's super funny to see, she even pretends to fall asleep when she eats the apple.  Then Daddy changes to handsome prince to kiss her to wake her up.

Anyway, so when I went to a huge garage sale and found this Cinderella castle with other princesses, I had to get it.  And ever since we got it, she's been playing with it non stop.  I paid $15 for it, and it was worth every penny!

リトル・マーメイドのアリエルが大大好きな我が家の乙女、雨。
何がきっかけで好きになったのかすら、今となってはもう思い出せない。何だったんだ。
まぁ今の所アリエルが付いてるTシャツを買ってくれぃ〜うぇ〜とか騒いだりはしないので助かってますが、いつかそんな日がくるんだろうな。やだな。

さて最近義両親宅にてシンデレラや白雪姫と言ったクラシックディズニー映画に触れたらしい彼女、アリエル以外にも姫がいた！という衝撃の事実を知る事に。
それ以来、ディズニーの姫がいる所に出くわしたり、テレビで見るともー大興奮。
それにしても世間は姫で溢れてる。
特にアナ雪姉妹はまーどこに行ってもお見かけしますが、今の所そこまで興味をひかれていない様子。


そんなこんなで、先週日本人家族合同のガレージセール（自宅で行うフリマみたいなもの）にて↑のシンデレラ城を発見した時には、即決で購入。
15㌦（約1500円）と、買った時はやや高い気はしたものの、買ったその日から毎日毎日遊んでいるので、元は取れた！と小さくガッツポーズする貧乏症母ちゃん。


私は小さい頃からバービーや着せ替え人形が大好きな超インドアな子供だったので、雨もその素質を受け継いだのかなと、普段より１オクターブ高い声で人形ごっこ遊びをしてる我が娘を見て思う日々。

でも何故かいつも白雪姫が泣いていて、それを他の姫達が
「どしたの？大丈夫？」と慰めてる。というシナリオ。
なにゆえそのストーリーライン？と謎は深まるばかり。

Bargain hunting! 子供服バーゲン！

Kid to Kid is having a semi-annual sale that started last Thursday,  I had my mother-in-law watching kids and went there to stock up some kids clothes.  Now we have 2 kids, girl and a boy, I feel like we're constantly in need for new clothes for them.  Especially for Kaisei, who is growing out of size 3 month already... He is only 1 and a half months, yikes!  

Anyway, everything was 10% off in store and 40% off of already marked down items.  Also There were $1 bin in front of the casher,  and they come down to 60 cents each!  What a bargain!! 

I love love shopping and bargains, so I had such a good time!  I wish I had more time,  (I didn't want to exhaust grandmama by watching two kids too long) so I could see bigger size for the coming years.  Oh well, in the end, I got 2 tops,  a dress, 3 skirts, a shorts for Amane.  3 shirts, 3 rompers and a overall for Kaisei.  And it was $20 and something, ( I used $5 off coupon when you spend more than $25) 

I used the store credit I had from selling unwanted items before, so I didn't spend a dime!  Awesome!  

Kid to Kid have clothes and toys that are really in good condition, even though the store itself is pretty small, I love it!  

先週木曜は義母に子供達を見てもらい、子供リサイクルショップの半年に1度のセールへ。

子供が2人になり、姉弟と言う事もあって、常に服の需要がある我が家。

特に海晴は1ヶ月半にして、3ヶ月用の服がぴっちぴっち。という半端ない成長っぷり。

定価で買ってなんかはいられません。

その日は店内全て10％オフ、更に値下げされたものからはそこから更に40％オフ、またレジ前には全て1㌦の箱！（そこから40％になるので、最終価格はなんと60セント（約60円！）

この日はセール初日とあってかなり混んでいましたが、脇目もふらず黙々と買う。元々即決買いするタイプなので、迷いはしないんす。

できれば大きめのサイズも見たかったけど、何せ義母に子を預けてる身。後ろ髪引かれる思いで店を後にしました。

結局、雨音はトップス2枚、スカート3枚、ショーパン1枚。海晴はトップス3枚、ロンパース3着、オーバーオール1枚。総額＄20弱（2000円位）なり！

更にこのお店では、ここに不要になったおもちゃや服を売ると、その分をストアクレジットとして、次の買い物に使える仕組みになっていて、私は20㌦以上残っていたので、今回は無料で全てをゲット！ばんざーい、主婦の鑑！（自己満足で生きてます）

これで冬物買う時期まではしばらく過ごせる…はず。

息子よ、ゆっくり育っておくれー

Goodwill finds! プチプラ子供服

Amane is staying with grandma this weekend and I had some free time on my own yesterday afternoon.  I decided to have a look at local Goodwill because it's been a while since I visited there.  All kids clothes are at $2.92 (!) and you can find great deal sometimes.  If you have plenty of time to look at things.  That never happens with a toddler who will touch everything and leave everything wherever they like! 

My finds yesterday were denim skirt and flower printed jeggings for Amane.  Lovely! I just LOVE anything in denim and I am always drawn to them.  I think I will remove the pink flower on the skirt so it could go with any color.  Summer clothes are so colorful and so much fun, especially for girls!  

今週末、雨音は旦那実家へ遠征中。

昨日午後は久々に1人の時間が確保できたので、ぶらりショッピングへ。

自宅すぐ側にあるリサイクルショップへも足を運んでみました。

アメリカのリサイクルショップって、時に使い物にならないんじゃ…って程壊れてたり、使いかけのキャンドルが売ってたりとなかなか際どい場合も多々あるんですが。

そういう所に限って探すと意外に良い物が隠れてたりするので、ゆっくり見れる時は楽しい。

何でも触って試したい幼児と行くのは衛生面、母ちゃんの精神面を考慮するとおすすめしません。

さてこのお店では子供服が全て2.92㌦（300円弱）！

昨日の掘り出し物はデニムジャンパースカートと花柄ジェギンス（これ日本でも言うのかな、デニムとレギンスの合体型）

デニムは何にでもあうのでついつい買ってしまう。

ピンクの花は取っちゃおうかな。

夏服、特に女子のはカラフルでわくわく。サンダルもう１足は調達しないとな。

足汗が半端無い我が娘雨音さんです。

Thrifty Thursday at Kid to Kid 子供服を安く買う方法 inアメリカ

We went to Kid to Kid today and they were having a semi-annual clearance sale!  Everything in the store was 10% off and an additional 40% off of mark-down prices.  That sounds like a good deal, right?  Babies grow out of their clothes so fast, (even in a month)  so I try to get clothing as inexpensively as possible.

Here's what I got;  three dresses, two tops, one skirt and one pair of shorts for just around $10. Great finds!

I  LOVE Baby Gap, but it can be pretty pricy.  But today I got a dress and a top for $2.80!! Freaking awesome.  You really have to "look" when you shop at any second hand stores, though.  There are items with damage or stains, but if you are careful you can find great steals! Oh, I also got her a pair of toy maracas for being a good girl in the store.  She seems to like playing with musical instrument toys.

本日はリサイクル子供服ショップへ。

半年に1度の大セール！店内全品10％オフ、セール品は更に40％オフ！とのお知らせメールが届いた時点からテンションはぐいぐい上昇。

最近抱っこ紐に飽きつつあるのかぐずる娘に

「必ず気に入るおもちゃ買っちゃるから」←北海道弁全開

と語りかけながら買い物に勤しむ私。

そのかいあって、ワンピース3着、トップス２着、スカート、短パン1着ずつ、合計7着を約10㌦にてゲット♪

下手したら1ヶ月とかで着れなくなってしまう洋服すらあるという、恐るべき早さで成長する我が子。

なので、可愛い洋服を安く買えればこれに越した事はありゃーせん！

ちなみに頑張った雨音にはマラカスをプレゼント、楽器系おもちゃがお好みの様子の彼女。只今子供ピアノ探し中。

little books for a little one 絵本の日

I went to a garage sale held by a group of Japanese families today.  I hoped to find Japanese books, and I did! I loved it when my mom read books to me when I was a child, and I hope Amane will, too.  I can't really tell whether or not she enjoys it at he moment.  Right now, she tends to look at us or just around the room instead of at the books when we read to her.

We are trying to raise her to be bilingual, but sometimes it's hard to stick to one language.  My husband I are so used to mixing English and Japanese in everyday conversations.  But I know that I need to try hard so that she'll be able to communicate with my family in Japan.

I wonder what her first word will be!

今日は日本人家族の開催したガレージセール（フリマのようなもの）に行ってきました。

お目当ては日本語の絵本。あ、バイリンガル子育て邁進中です、一応。

現在読み聞かせている絵本は割と長めのが多く、雨音が飽きてしまうので、もちっと軽めのを探していたところ。

そして収穫は懐かしのノンタン含む上記の本たち。と、ひらがな学びカード。

前回帰省した際には絵本の高価さに度肝を抜かれました。皆さんどうしてるんでしょ。

私が本好きなのもあるけれど、子供達にはできるだけ本を読んで欲しい。

けど持って帰ってくるにも限度があるので、こういう機会を利用しない手はない。

図書館で気軽に借りられる環境って贅沢だよなぁ。

これで絵本はやや充実したので、次回帰省時には気兼ねせず（した事無いけど）に私の本を買おう。

Thrifty finds! 週末激安子供服の旅

I went to the Humane Society of Forsyth County Thrift Store last Saturday. It's run by a No-Kill animal shelter in Cumming, and profits go to support the shelter. 

It' s a good size store with lots of furniture and household goods.  I wasn't impressed with the amount of kids stuff, but the prices were awesome!  The staff was very friendly and I was even greeted by a dog who is looking for a permanent home. I hope he will find it soon, he seemed like a very sweet dog. 

Here are few of the things I found. They were both 50 cents! That's unbeatable :)

Baby Gap hat for summer! 

先週土曜はアニマル保護シェルターの経営するスリフトストアへ行ってみました。

お店の収益がシェルター運営に貢献する仕組み。買い物する方はお得だし、動物達のためになるなら一石二鳥。

家具や日用雑貨は豊富でしたが、子供服は少なめ。

それでも掘り出し物発見するのが主婦の腕の見せ所。

黄色と黒の花柄ワンピ、Baby Gapの帽子はそれぞれ50セント！（約50円）

しかしワンピースって可愛いからついつい買ってしまうけど、実際カーシートに乗せたらくっちゃくちゃになるし、寝返ってるうちに顔にすっぽり被さって、それをチューチュー吸ってたりするし、実用的じゃないんだよな…

歩けるようになるともっと着せる機会も増えるのかな。

それにしても毎回スリフトストアに行く度に、知らず知らずサイズ別に陳列を直す自分に気付いてハッとする。性格よねぇ。

Spring Cleaning! 春の大掃除

I am not familiar with the concept of "spring cleaning,"(I am from a country where the big yearly cleaning comes at the end of the year) but I LOVE cleaning anyways, so I am working on getting rid of old things. I am a cold-blooded/ heartless human being when it comes to getting rid of stuff. It's not hard for me at all to toss old things, especially when you can donate unwanted items instead of throwing them away! It's a guilt-free solution for clutter in the house.

I frequent my local Goodwill, both to donate and to shop.  I always find something when I go there.

Here is one of my Goodwill finds from the other day.

Hawaii T-shirt for my baby girl! My husband thought it was a bit strange since we haven't been to Hawaii, but I know it'll look cute on her.

ちびっこフラガールが可愛い♡

ここアメリカでは何故か春に大掃除をする風習があり（生粋のアメリカンな旦那ちゃんも理由は知らず）

年から年中掃除している私も便乗してディープに整理整頓中。

私は片付けに関しては血も涙もない冷血漢。

センチメンタルバリュー？何ですかそれ？

とじゃんじゃん切り捨てます。

実際これまで捨てて困った物はなかったし、「いつか使うかも」って物は9割使わない。

さて、ここアメリカでは不要品を寄付できるお店が沢山あって、古着屋さんにて買ってもらえなかった洋服や日用品は必ず持って行く事にしています、捨てるよりも誰かに使ってもらえれば嬉しいし、罪悪感（私は無いけど）も感じずに済む。

最近は寄付しに行く度子供服を買って来てしまう…でも全品$3位なんで、ま、いっか。

先日見つけたのは↑のハワイTシャツ！可愛い♡

旦那ちゃんは「えっ…」と絶句してましたが。派手柄のレギンスに合わせたら絶対可愛いに違いない。うん。

あー薄着の出来る夏が待ち遠しいな。

Thrifty Finds

スリフトショップが大好物です。

これは日本でいう所のリサイクルショップなんだけれども

基本的に商品は寄付されている場合が多いので

実際壊れていたり、用途不明な代物も多数潜んでいたりします。

古い古い家族写真とかね。見つける度思わず買ってしまいそうになる自分と格闘する事

約2分、その後はっと我に返る。だって赤の他人の写真を飾るってねぇ。

けれどその中から自分にとっての掘り出し物を見つけた時の

達成感と高揚感、してやったり感（大袈裟）はやみつきになります。

さて、最近のめっけものさん達。

全品半額デーに乳飲み子を引き連れて参戦（赤子はベビーカーで爆睡）

まずはバラ柄の皿

99セントの半額を祝って行進中のキキ（飼い猫）

と子供服

パステルカラー以外の子供服は珍しいので即買う

子供は知らない内にぐんぐん成長していて気付けばこの服1回しか着とらん！なぬぅー

とかは日常茶飯事なので高いのは不要。


そして毎回の戦利品を意気揚々と夫ちゃんに報告。

その度に「グッドジョブ！」と褒めてくれる健気な彼。

はい、ご名答、褒められて伸びるタイプです、私。
